Hyster at TOC Europe 2008

Hyster exhibited at this year’s TOC Europe (Terminal Operations Conference and Exhibition) in June, held at the RAI exhibition centre.

Visitors to the show, held this year at the RAI in Amsterdam, took the opportunity to visit Hyster on stand D8, where specialists were on-hand to answer questions and offer advice about optimising the handling and flow of containers and goods in ports and terminals.

Hyster provides a full range of solutions suitable for various applications in ports and terminals, where reliability is essential.  Hyster’s range of equipment includes dedicated empty and laden container handlers, reach stackers and a variety of forklift trucks.

“TOC is an important event in Hyster’s calendar” explains Peter Madoc-Jones, Product Marketing Manager for Hyster “It provides the opportunity to communicate specifically to the Ports and Terminals industry.  We have really managed to demonstrate how Hyster products deliver dependability and efficiency to operations, as well as highlight the superior level of service support, which is delivered by our extensive network of distribution partners.”

In time-sensitive port operations, dependable equipment is essential to maintain the consistent flow of containers and goods. “Reachstackers, container handlers and big trucks are significant investments, and it is therefore critical for companies to make the right choice, to ensure that they generate the required return on investment, through maximising productivity and effectively managing operating costs”.

Hyster is committed to continuous product development in order to meet the ever changing demands of customers’ handling requirements and this year sees an upgrade to Hyster’s series of ReachStackers.   Improvements include the introduction of a longer wheelbase, which allows for a reduction in overall truck weight. This contributes to reducing fuel consumption and tyre wear, helping operations become even more environmentally friendly and economical.

The counterweight has also been restyled with a more rounded shape at the wheels, to allow for better visibility around the sides of the truck.  It also has a deeper central cut-out profile to enhance rearwards visibility, making the new design more operator-friendly.

Hyster has a long established history in manufacturing dependable big trucks and container handlers for demanding 24/7 operations at its factory in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Hyster’s products are supported by the most comprehensive independent distribution network in the industry, helping to maximise customer’s productivity and efficiency, and reduce overall operating costs.
