Hyster shows latest developments in container handling at TOC

Hyster Europe will be showing the latest developments in container handling on stand D4 at TOC Europe (Terminal Operations Conference) that takes place in Valencia, Spain from 8th to 10th June.

“Hyster has several product announcements to share with the ports and terminals community at TOC” explains Antoon Cooijmans, Big Trucks Product Manager for Hyster Europe.

Located on stand D4 - at the entrance to TOC – Hyster Europe will greet visitors with a dedicated team of handling specialists. With a reputation for supplying a tough and dependable range of forklifts, empty container handlers and reachstackers, the team will be on hand to provide details of how Hyster solutions deliver significant cost savings and improved performance across a wide range of applications.

The most notable announcement is the new AxleTech XTL™ drive-axle featured on Hyster’s H16.00-22.00XM-12EC range of Empty Container Handlers and offered exclusively by Hyster in Europe in 2010. Tyre wear can now be reduced by as much as an anticipated factor of 3 for the front (drive axle) tyres, plus 1.5 for the rear (steer axle) tyres. This contributes to lowering the overall cost of running empty container handling operations.

Other new options include the new ‘Lay-back’ mast on the H16.00-22.00XM-12EC empty container handler, allowing the mast to be lowered back against the cab, to reduce the overall height, so it can pass easily underneath overhead obstacles (e.g. bridges or pipelines), where previously the mast would have to be dismounted.

The team will provide information on the recently launched Hyster H25-32XM heavy duty forklifts range, which includes seven new forklifts (inc. three short wheelbase) and two dedicated container handlers, spanning 25 to 32 tonnes.

Hyster will also be launching the new 6-high reachstacker option, now available on the RS45-31CH, RS46-36CH and RS46-41LCH models. Fitted with a longer inner boom, these machines can now stack 8’6” containers 6-high in the 1st container row.
