As extreme weather conditions strike many parts of Europe, Hyster announces a variety of weather protection options for its new electric forklift trucks to help operations run smoothly, whatever the weather.

The new series of Hyster three and four wheel electric forklift trucks have been designed for maximum productivity in both indoor and outdoor 24/7 operations. To increase comfort and visibility for drivers operating in wet or cold conditions, a full range of weather protection options are available for the new J1.5-2.0XNT and the J1.6-2.0XN models, consistent with the truck’s design.

The options range from a full steel cab to a variety of factory installed or aftermarket kits comprised of individual panels that can be mounted onto the standard overhead guard. These can be fitted during production or quickly and easily at the customers’ site. The weather protection kits include front, top and rear toughened glass screens with a choice of either steel or PVC doors.

“Visibility is a primary focus when operating in extreme weather. Hyster has achieved excellent all round visibility through a combination of the slim profile guards and maximum glazed areas on the doors, front and rear screens.” explains David Rowell, European Operations Manager.

The front wiper motor, located under the dashboard, also enhances forward visibility and sweep, with rear wipers available for maximum rear visibility. A heater/demister is also available with the steel door option to enable effective temperature control to keep the driver comfortable throughout a shift. The doors are ergonomically designed to ensure easy entry and exit, with gas springs for minimum effort when opening and closing. The heavy weight PVC doors are opened by undoing the zips and in hot weather can be completely removed simply by unzipping.

The purpose is to keep the drivers comfortable in all weather conditions so that they continue to perform as efficiently as the new Hyster trucks themselves.” adds David Rowell.
