Hyster Europe has successfully expanded its dealer network in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A total of 17 experienced medium-sized specialist companies now serve customers in the different regions of Germany. In Austria and Switzerland, one Hyster® dealer partner covers all-round service and sales for the lift truck manufacturer.
Hyster® customers are supported by the network of local distributors who have extensive product and application knowledge. They know the different challenges of daily operations and advise companies from the outset. From Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt am Main, Hyster Europe manages the dealer network and service in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Hyster Europe distributes its trucks through independent dealers who offer the trucks exclusively in the individual regions. "We have a very powerful network that enables us to reach every customer across the whole region, " says Timo Antony, Area Business Director for Central Europe at Hyster Europe.
Partnership with professionals
For Hyster Europe, partnering with independent dealers is an integral part of the company's policy. "Our strategy is to enter the market with experienced traders," says Antony. "We rely on dealers who, like us, are interested in long-term cooperation, understand the business and have developed a high level of professionalism. In addition to solution-oriented customer service, this includes proximity to the market and entrepreneurial know-how in all areas of industry and logistics. "The partners benefit from the Hyster® range of 140 different models. As one of the few international manufacturers, Hyster Europe offers lift trucks of all kinds, from hand pallet trucks, counterbalance trucks and warehouse trucks, to container handlers and ReachStackers for the most demanding applications.
"Hyster® dealers can count on us to provide them with reliable, durable, and high-performance trucks that are in demand in the market due to their high quality," said Antony. "On this basis, we continue to pursue our global strategy of market leadership with independent dealers."
Dealers benefit from short distances
By working directly with Hyster Europe, dealers and their customers benefit from quick decision making and fast spare parts supply, so they can benefit from an all-round service, which is second to none. Fast response times and weekend working are a matter of course for the service staff.
In addition, the dealerships can order special designs at any time through the Special Projects Engineering Department, the so-called SPED, in order to offer their customers individual solutions. At factory visits in Craigavon, Northern Ireland, Masate near Milan and Nijmegen in the Netherlands, dealers find out about the latest models and obtain the latest technical information on the machines. In addition, Hyster Europe regularly trains dealer’s employees and has set up its own training program to ensure service quality.
Service and sales network is expanded
A successful Hyster® dealer for warehousing solutions is the company Kowalski Transportgeräte GmbH in Mönchengladbach. The company is also one of the largest suppliers of industrial trucks on the Lower Rhine. Among other things, Kowalski supplies electric, gas and diesel forklift trucks for the paper and steel industry, warehouse logistics companies and department stores, mechanical engineering companies and the pharmaceutical industry. In addition to service, distribution, financing and forklift rental, the company also provides regular training.
Schwede GmbH takes over service in Berlin
In Berlin, Gabelstapler-Vertrieb Schwede GmbH is the new authorized dealer for Hyster Europe. Holger Schwede took over the management of the long-established company in 2001, which is one of the most experienced providers in the Berlin / Brandenburg region. "We are constantly expanding our business and are now extending our offering to include robust heavy-duty forklift trucks and container handlers," says Managing Director Schwede.
Hyster Europe offers all types of forklifts
One of the first independent dealers who worked directly with the material handling equipment manufacturer in 2014 following the reorganization of the Hyster® dealer network was the Norgatec trading company in Hamburg. "Above all, we were impressed by the extensive model range and the quality of Hyster® forklift trucks," says Norgatec's Managing Director Andreas Küstermann. "We now offer all types of forklifts, from one manufacturer. This benefits our customers in particular because we can directly supply the right forklift trucks for every need”. For example, for Packing Center Hamburg (PCH), the big Hyster® RS46-36CH Container Handlers are the backbone of the operation. Including the 1000th ReachStacker, that Hyster Europe produced in the Dutch plant in Nijmegen.
Norgatec also supplies the latest models for Hamburger Container Service GmbH (HCS). For example, HCS is testing the new Hyster® H11XM-ECD9 Empty Container Handler in the Port of Hamburg. The high-performance stacker allows for double handling and can stack up to nine containers on top of each other.
HCS has been operating a repair operation and depot for empty sea containers for almost 40 years and has relied on Hyster® container handlers for about 20 years. The H11XM-ECD9 complements the existing fleet, which includes several empty container handlers and six other Hyster® forklifts.
Superior know-how in intralogistics
The operation of ReachStackers and heavy-duty forklifts in harbors and heavy industry requires a high degree of specialization from the dealer. Just as important is the know-how to competently advise customers in different industries, such as the field of intralogistics, or the wood and paper industry. For example, Hald & Grunewald in Herrenberg near Stuttgart has largely replaced the fleet of electric forklift trucks for the logistics service provider Agility in Stuttgart with Hyster® H1.8FT forklift trucks. As a result, the company now more efficiently manages the significantly increased throughput and longer operating times for industrial trucks in the growing automotive business.
Hyster® solutions for warehouse logistics
Innovative solutions for warehouse logistics were provided by Hyster® dealer GS-Gabelstapler Service in Wolfenbüttel for the fashion logistics company Meyer & Meyer. In just nine months of construction, the company set up a modern distribution warehouse for fashion and lifestyle products in Peine. At the heart of the new logistics warehouse are four high-performance Hyster® C1.3 Very Narrow Aisle trucks (VNAs). For Meyer & Meyer, a sophisticated induction system ensures that the forklifts stay on track. "In the middle of the aisle there is an induction loop that guides the forklift precisely," says Torsten Franke, Managing Director of Hyster® dealer GS-Gabelstapler Service. "It is therefore possible to leave only a few centimeters clearance to the individual rows of shelves and optimally utilize the available space."
Foundry industry solutions
After several years of testing, Eisenwerk Martinlamitz relies exclusively on logistics solutions with robust Hyster® industrial trucks. The advantage: the forklift trucks, which are specially equipped for use in the ironworks, have been able to withstand the heat of the melting furnace and can be used in the factory even in confined spaces. The traditional company site with its narrow factory buildings, however, places special demands on logistics.
In particular, for the transport of up to 1400 degrees molten metal in the 1.8-ton ladles, powerful and especially agile forklifts are needed.
Forklifts with special equipment
In order to withstand the high temperatures in the immediate vicinity of the melting furnaces, the trucks used in this area are equipped with an additional oil cooler and temperature-resistant hydraulic hoses.
In the outdoor area, Eisenwerk Martinlamitz mainly uses Hyster® electric forklifts. "This is rather unusual," says Jochen Kotschenreuther, from Hyster® dealer Kotschenreuther, who has looked after the foundry for years. "Usually so far electric forklifts have been used for indoor emission-free operation."
