GREENVILLE, N.C. (April 4, 2016) – THINK PERFORMANCE is a top priority for Hyster Company. This
unrivaled commitment to deliver a broad range of high performance solutions will be on display in
Hyster booth #2927 at MODEX 2016. From hydrogen fuel cell-powered lift trucks, to lithium-ion
batteries to the company’s extensive engine options, the Hyster booth will have it all.
The Hyster® E50XN electric lift truck will feature a Nuvera® PowerEdge® hydrogen fuel cell. Nuvera
PowerEdge fuel cells provide a clean, safe and efficient power option for electric lift trucks,
with water and heat as its only byproducts. Hydrogen powered lift trucks can operate almost
continuously, only having to stop periodically to refuel. For operations with onsite hydrogen
generation, refueling can be achieved in about three minutes, compared to changing out a battery,
which can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. Additionally, operations with onsite hydrogen
generation eliminate the need for battery charging rooms and battery storage space, enabling more
efficient use of existing space.
For those interested in lithium-ion battery options, the Hyster® W45ZHD walkie pallet truck offers
the first UL-recognized lithium-ion battery pack in the lift truck industry. The maintenance free
lithium-ion battery is designed to last up to five times longer than traditional lead acid
batteries. And the shorter 6-inch battery compartment enhances truck maneuverability in congested
areas and tight spaces.
Also on display is the innovative Hyster® H360-36/48HD big truck with Tier 4 Final Cummins QSB 6.7L
diesel engine, rated at 168 peak horsepower and mated to a ZF WG 161 3-speed powershift
transmission. The H360-36/48HD series with Tier 4 Final engine features an integrated drivetrain
with emission reduction package. This package delivers as much as 5% lower fuel consumption over
Tier 4 Interim engines and includes cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) with a water-cooled
variable geometry turbocharger (VGT), diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) for particulate matter
removal, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system for nitrogen oxide (NOX) reduction and diesel
exhaust fluid (DEF) delivery system.
Hyster also offers PSI engines featuring Hyster® Variable Power Technology™, providing a powerful
and efficient solution for demanding applications. This technology provides adjustable performance
modes that allow customers to maximize productivity or fuel economy to fit specific application
requirements. It offers the ability to achieve a balance of enhanced performance and superior fuel
economy or to maximize productivity during peak business periods when moving more loads is
integral to the success of the operation. The engines come standard with an advanced E-controls
fuel system that helps improve fuel efficiency and emissions in LPG, CNG or dual fuel (LPG or
gasoline) formats, enabling the engines to perform effectively across a wide range of industries
and applications. On exhibit in the Hyster booth, the new H50XT truck features the innovative PSI
engine solution.
“Our flexible, performance enhancing power and engine options offer significant value in terms of
reduced operating costs and increased productivity,” said Joe Dennison, Product Manager for Hyster.
“At Hyster, we are committed to providing customers with the most innovative solutions available,
helping meet their
dividual operational requirements and lower total cost of ownership.”
