WHAT IS TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP?
It is the acquisition cost of a lift truck as well as all potential related expenses including financing, depreciation, insurance, fuel, downtime, maintenance and repair.
The Total Cost of Ownership study was conducted in July 2011 by Peerless Media Research Group, who specializes in marketing and media research solutions for materials handling, logistics and supply chain marketers. Peerless polled the Modern Materials Handling magazine subscriber base—specifically those who classified themselves as those involved in the purchase process for lift trucks at their company. Industries included heavy manufacturing, warehousing, industrial wholesale/distribution, light manufacturing, retail & merchandising, etc.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE SURVEYED?
The study included a statistically significant sample size of qualified respondents. This was a blind, independent study with the audience having no information about who was sponsoring the survey.
