Reducing your business’s impact on the environment is becoming less of a choice and more of a mandate. Federal and state governments are pledging new decarbonization commitments to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by transitioning a greater share of energy consumption from fossil fuels to renewable sources.
- Brazil aims to reduce GHG emissions between 59% and 67% by 2035 compared to 2005 levels. Part of this initiative involves progressively replacing fossil fuels with electrification in the industrial sector.
- Chile has set a 100% zero-emissions target for large mobile machinery (>560 kilowatts) by 2035, and for smaller equipment (>19 kW) – including forklifts – by 2040.
- Mexico’s General Law on Climate Change includes a national mobility strategy that promotes the transition from fossil fuel-powered vehicles to electric alternatives across various sectors, including industrial applications.
