From manufacturing and building materials to ports and the automotive industry, Hyster® equipment is designed and built to support demanding materials handling operations across various industries. With solutions that are Distinctly Hyster and can also be matched to your specific operational needs.
This year, we’ve been working our way through the A to Z of Hyster, demonstrating the breadth, diversity, and strength of our tough solutions. This blog marks the midway point of our series, where you can uncover Hyster highlights from K to P.
K is for Knowledge
Knowledge is power. And it’s key to our success. The team of Hyster experts possess the insight required to design and build container handlers, lift trucks, and warehouse equipment to support busy materials handling operations. But we don’t stop there. Because knowledge is meant to be shared.
Our global network of independent dealers have been selected in part due to their own industry and region-specific knowledge. We also arm them with product knowledge to enable them to provide the necessary guidance to support their customers in choosing the right equipment to meet their needs.
We also offer an online library of helpful resources to customers searching for the right materials handling equipment to support their operations. It includes, whitepapers, case studies, and blogs written to help answer questions and share our valuable knowledge.

L is for Lift Trucks
The name Hyster is synonymous with tough lift trucks. It’s what we do. From pedestrian pallet trucks in an industrial warehouse, through to electric and IC forklifts. We design and build lift trucks to meet the needs of demanding operations, with many optional and customisable features available to offer equipment that matches the specific needs of your individual application. That’s what we call ‘Distinctly Hyster. Built for you’.
We have seen the world of lift trucks change and grow over almost a century, with the latest developments focusing on sustainability. We remain at the forefront of lift truck design and development, developing and offering alternative fuel solutions to help businesses meet their sustainability goals. With trials of electric-powered reachstackers, HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuel, lithium-ion batteries, and more.

M is for Manufacturing
Hyster has been manufacturing materials handling equipment for almost 100 years. Today Hyster lift trucks are manufactured in various strategic locations around the world. Tough Hyster container handlers, forklifts, and warehouse equipment are manufactured and tested to the highest standards.
Last year, the manufacturing plant in Craigavon, Northern Ireland, where many of our flagship forklifts are made passed a milestone, having produced its 500,000th lift truck. A true testament to our hardworking and passionate team, and the enduring appeal of Hyster equipment.
Hyster lift trucks are also used to support many demanding manufacturing operations around the world, including our own.

N is for Noise Reduction
Reducing noise levels for equipment operators is a matter of both comfort and safety. With reduced noise in a forklift cabin or in the working environment, operators get a more pleasant working environment, which in turn can support greater productivity. Less noise during operation across large fleets also benefits the comfort of others working in proximity to the forklifts, especially in the confines of a storage facility.
Electric-powered lift trucks, which are growing in demand, are one way to help to minimise noise levels in an operation. Electric vehicles run more quietly than IC forklifts due to the engine. Some Hyster equipment, such as the Hyster P1.6-2.2 Powered Pallet Truck, is also available with an optional noise reduction package to further support comfort for operators, other staff, and those surrounding the operating site.
Ask your local Hyster dealer about noise reduction packages for your operation.
O is for Operator Experience
Comfort and ergonomics are vital to the forklift operator experience. All Hyster equipment is designed with the operator in mind. For container handler operators in their cabs for a whole shift, a warm cab compartment, comfortable seat, and reduced noise and vibrations can make a big difference. Or to a forklift operator in a warehouse who has to get on and off their truck multiple times throughout the day, a step that is the right size and height might make their job a little more comfortable and efficient. Every part of the operator experience is taken into consideration.

P is for Ports
We know ports and terminals. It’s one of our core focus industries. Because intense port and terminal operations demand power and precision from handling equipment. And Hyster equipment is built for the job. Our highly customisable solutions are backed by deep industry insight and global dealer support, to help keep cargo moving, and costs in check.
Whether your port operation requires materials handling equipment to support breakbulk handling, stevedoring operations, or dock and yard transportation, there is Hyster port, terminal and intermodal equipment to match your requirements. This includes heavy duty IC forklifts, heavy duty electric powered forklifts, container handlers, and more.
