No Excuses, Just Evidence - The Hyster Tracker Impact Camera

In industrial manufacturing and storage, visibility is a necessity. From high-throughput manufacturing lines to demanding storage facilities, there’s no room for guesswork. Knowing exactly what happens during a forklift incident can mean the difference between a quick fix and a costly site shutdown.  So, when something goes wrong, damaging equipment or product, you need answers fast.

At Hyster, we’ve spent decades engineering solutions for the toughest environments. We’ve recently introduced a new tool to help forklift operations to improve accountability and efficiency by capturing the moments that matter in real time. The new Hyster Tracker Impact Camera doesn’t just record what happened. It shows exactly what occurred before, during, and after the impact. No speculation or finger-pointing, just hard evidence.

Why Forklift Impact Cameras Matter

Hyster forklifts and other materials handling equipment operate in tough, high-pressure environments. When an impact occurs, whether it’s a collision with infrastructure, product damage, or a near-miss, understanding the full context is essential.

The Hyster Tracker Impact Camera enables managers to see it, own it, and fix it. It provides insights that enable site managers to get answers, and make informed decisions, backed by evidence – such as three minutes of footage before and after an impact.

With dual 1080P full HD cameras and a 140-degree wide-angle field of view, the Impact Camera captures the detail of critical incidents. Whether it’s a forklift clipping a rack or a pallet falling to the floor, the camera can confirm who was operating the truck, when and where the incident occurred, and, importantly, what caused the issue.

Using Technology to Drive Accountability and Efficiency

Forklift impact cameras enable businesses to take a proactive approach to impact management. For example, reviewing footage may help identify training needs to reinforce best practices, expose the root cause of issues, and help the wider team understand what brought about an incident.

In addition, by identifying patterns in impact data, businesses may uncover inefficiencies in layout, traffic flow, or scheduling and can act accordingly to improve processes. This helps support a culture of continuous improvement.

Accurate video evidence can help businesses prevent future incidents, reducing repairs, downtime and costs, and minimising costly insurance claims.

Built for Real World Challenges

Industrial environments are tough. Forklift technology needs to be equally robust. The Hyster Tracker Impact Camera thrives in factories, warehouses, and storage yards – both inside and outside.  It includes a rugged design with IP68-rated waterproof lenses, a working temperature range from -10°C to 65°C, and the capability to operate in environments with 10-80% humidity. The camera can store up to 100 events as standard, or up to 400 with expandable memory option. It is designed to record clear footage, even in low light conditions, and automatically powers on and off with the lift truck.

These strong features mean that the Impact Camera can capture footage dependably, day in and day out, in the same harsh conditions your operators face.

Make Visibility a Strategic Advantage

When you can see what’s happening, you can act faster, train smarter, and prevent problems before they escalate. If an incident occurs, the Hyster Tracker Impact Camera allows you to see exactly what has happened, even if you’re not there, enabling you to do more than humanly possible.
