Multimodaal Transport Expo 2024

Tough Hyster® solutions for ports and terminals at Multimodaal Transport Expo 2024

Visitors to Multimodaal Transport Expo – the dedicated transport and logistics show for the Netherlands and Belgium – will have chance to learn about Hyster® solutions for materials handling and container handling in demanding port and terminal environments.

Hyster will be part of the exhibition on 14th March 2024 alongside local dealer Heffiq, which provides lift trucks and container handlers throughout the Netherlands. They also provide nationwide service and support to help businesses with multimodal operations to overcome their challenges.

Willem Nieuwland, Big Trucks Program Manager for Hyster, will also be speaking about zero emissions port equipment developments and electrification as part of the event’s conference programme.

Hyster trucks for ports and terminals

Robust Hyster container handlers and lift trucks can support a wide range of applications undertaking intermodal handling operations. From unloading ships, barges, and trains, to moving laden containers in terminals, or transporting smaller loads within a port side store.

Visitors to the exhibition can find out more about the versatile Hyster RS46 ReachStacker, which supports high intensity handling of varied loads, as well as the Hyster H8XD-ECD-H11-ECD9 Empty Container Handler series, which offer options for double container handling, and stacking up to 9 high. Hyster Big Trucks, with rugged counterbalance lift truck models designed to handle loads of 8-tonnes or more, also underpin many efficient port and terminal operations. And all these models are not only limited to traditional diesel power options.

HVO fuel to help reduce emissions

Hyster Big Trucks, Empty Container Handlers, and ReachStackers can all use HVO100 as a fuelling option. HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a cleaner fuel that offers up to 90% reduction in CO2 emissions. This can support businesses in their sustainability strategies. It is available now, providing an option that is quick and simple to implement for operations who are driven to lower their emissions, but where it is not yet possible to switch to an electric, zero emissions fleet.

Hyster Zero-Emissions Port Equipment

However, Hyster is also ready to support businesses who are making the move to electric power in ports. Talk to Hyster at Multimodaal about its latest innovations to bring advanced power sources to port equipment, including the pilot of a hydrogen fuel-cell powered ReachStacker in the Port of Valencia, and the development of zero-emissions terminal tractors. Hyster is also currently developing zero-emission Empty Container Handler options, harnessing either battery power only, or a combination of lithium-ion batteries and hydrogen fuel cells.

Tough trucks such as the lithium-ion battery powered Hyster J10-18XD lift truck series are already being used in intense port handling environments. The latest Hyster innovations extend the range of zero-emission solutions available for port and terminal operations.
