New Hyster® H8-16XM forklift trucks, featuring new diesel engines and intelligent control functions, use less fuel to do more work than the previous generation models. A selection will be on display at BAUMA 2013.
Following the Hyster approach to low emissions container handling trucks, this ninth generation series of 8-16 tonne lift capacity Hyster® Big Trucks has been designed for use in demanding applications, such as within the mining and construction sectors. Specialist attachments used in these sectors will also be on display at BAUMA, including a Tyre Handler, a Stone Clamp and an Accommodation Container Handler attachment.
Significant fuel savings of up to 20% can be achieved with the H8-12XM-6 range, thanks to engine rightsizing and advanced ECO-eLo control systems, which are now available on all Stage IIIB configurations. The existing Stage IIIA versions are still available across the full model range for unregulated markets.
The high performance Cummins diesel engines, in combination with the new dual hydraulic pumps, can achieve a 20% higher laden lifting speed. The Hyster® H8-12XM-6 and H13-16XM-6 diesel forklift trucks also feature load sensing hydraulics, which help to deliver a fuel saving of 5% compared to previous models.
“Maximum loads are not always handled in heavy industry” says Chris van der Werdt, Sales Manager for Hyster® Big Trucks. “By introducing load sensing hydraulics there is less waste, lower noise levels, reduced operating temperatures and greater fuel efficiency.”
Increased cooling capacity helps to further reduce the hydraulic oil temperature. “These developments have helped lower the cost of operation even further and have increased reliability” Chris says, explaining that operating with lower oil temperatures can help to improve the life expectancy of hydraulic hoses and seals and an advanced filter system protects major components from potentially harmful contaminants. Engine and transmission protection systems are also featured on all models with oil immersed ‘wet disc’ brakes also helping to reduce the cost of operation.
“We believe this truck provides the best all-round visibility and ergonomics, available in the market today.” Chris adds.
For the operator, the Hyster® ‘Vista™’ Operator Compartment offers excellent comfort, outstanding ergonomics, a low noise level and optimal visibility of the forks, as well as excellent vision sideways and rearwards.
Fuel saving options such as a travel speed limiter (top speed plus variable set speed) as well as empty seat shutdown feature with variable time delay, low rolling resistance and highly durable radial tyres are available on all models.
