National Forklift Safety Day, sponsored by the Industrial Truck Association, serves as a focal point for manufacturers to highlight the safe use of forklifts. This special day – scheduled for June 12, 2018 – provides an opportunity for the materials handling industry to enhance awareness of forklift safety practices and the importance of operator training.

At Hyster, safety is not a once-a-year event; it is our main focus each day. From product design to our award-winning operator training program, Hyster is committed to offering products that contribute to freedom from physical injury and property damage. No matter how safe and reliable the equipment, there is no replacement for trained, attentive operators, and, just as importantly, trained pedestrians.

In an article published in the April 2018 issue of DC Velocity, Marty Boyd, Hyster Vice President of Product Planning and Solutions, spoke about the importance of quality operator safety training programs and highlighted the OSHA-compliant “Best-in-Class” program from Hyster. Hyster was also singled out for being one of the manufacturers incorporating new technology, like virtual reality (VR) experiences, in its operator training program.
