Beat the Heat with Hyster Solutions
Heat from direct contact with the product or from radiation seriously affects the front of a forklift truck.
Hyster has developed several options to protect the truck when handling hot steel product.

INNOVATION: THE POWER OF RIGHT-SIZED ENGINES.
Significant Fuel Savings with the latest Hyster engine technology
Hyster® Big Trucks offer an engine solution that not only meets EPA Tier IV emission requirements, but also helps lower your total cost of ownership. Our right-sized engines feature the proprietary COOLED EGR SYSTE providing the right power for the job while reducing fuel consumption by up to 25%. They’re built to do more with less fuel.

Hyster forklifts feature two operating modes. ECO-eLo mode optimizes fuel by reducing the maximum engine speed and uses smart throttle control to avoid over-fueling the engine. HiP High Performance Mode is the standard operating mode
Smart designs reducing the total cost of operations
ECO modes:
Hyster forklifts feature two selectable operating modes: ECO eLo or HiP High Performance Modes so that the truck’s performance can be tailored to the application’s demands. The eLo mode optimizes fuel consumption by reducing the maximum engine speed and uses smart throttle control to avoid over-fueling the engine without losing productivity. HiP Mode provides maximum performance and good fuel economy.
Accurate load sensing hydraulics:
The highly efficient hydraulic system delivers oil flow only when required. The engine speed does not have to be increased to provide sufficient hydraulic flow, which means it saves fuel, runs quieter and helps extend the life of major components. In fact, the oil and filters last longer, and hoses, seals and components wear less, prolonging their working life. Operators benefit from accurate control with an “egg shell” landing, helping to prevent damage such as coil bands snapping or saddle damage.
Idle Management and empty seat shut down:
ECO modes idle management incorporates an innovative hibernate mode into Hyster Tier 4 Interim Trucks. When there is no demand for engine or hydraulic control for more than 30 seconds, the engine goes into hibernate mode, which lowers engine rpm and reduces fuel usage and emissions by 20 to 30 percent. Another design addition is the empty seat engine shutdown option.
- Eliminate chains through the use of a chainless Monomast
- Incorporating a heat shield around the cylinders, which protects and expands the life of cylinder seals
- Cylinders are also designed for easy change-out
